Our Story

At Orlando FC Moto, we believe in the power of community football. In 1997, the Munhupedzi family, as the Founders of the Club, embarked on a journey to develop the concept of Community Football in Zimbabwe. They registered with the Harava East Football Association, laying the foundation for what would become a hub for young people to come together and enjoy the beautiful game.

For young players to participate and flourish in competitive soccer programs requires an unrealistic amount of money, time and resources.
In a region where participating in top soccer clubs costs at least $2,000 annually per athlete, low-income youth are automatically excluded from the high-quality coaching, state of the art equipment and training facilities that more privileged kids receive.
ORLA FC provides access to high-quality, affordable club soccer for low-income, under-resourced, and marginalized youth, and we do it differently than any other club in the nation.
Working together, ORLA FC participants stay physically and emotionally healthy, build confidence, plan for the future, and experience belonging.
ORLA FC was created to dismantle the barriers to competitive athletic training and opportunity, and to provide a safe and brave space for all youth to gain skills, confidence, educational and emotional support.

Your donation means that parents don’t have to choose between their child playing soccer and paying the next bill.

HEALTH PROMOTION AND HEALTH PROTECTION THROUGH SPORT

Sports programs can also promote health and gender equality. These programs keep children active and often include co-ed interactions and relationships that help children learn to treat people equally, regardless of gender. Sports programs may even give children who excel at sports the opportunity to turn sport into a career and potentially support themselves and their families. From early childhood, sports programs can reduce poverty by encouraging diplomacy, boosting health, advancing gender equality and opening doors to career opportunities.
Sports programs can also improve public health on a local level. Coaches often help children adopt good hygiene practices and understand the importance of physical activity and nutrition. Sports programs may even serve local economies by creating jobs in coaching and mentorship.
